We usually plant impatiens along the sidewalk as well as in planters on the steps because this is the north side of the house and doesn't get much sunlight.

When this picture was taken we were about halfway done with splitting and transplanting the giant blue hostas from alongside the garage to under the bay window and several other spots around the house.

The tree on the corner of the house is a crab apple tree that holds its berries all winter.
